Art You Can Live With

Northwind Illustrations is an observational art practice exploring how artwork behaves in space, memory, and everyday life.

This publication is a place for the stories, observations, sketches, and reflections that surround the work.

A quiet place to slow down and look more carefully.

Why This Space Exists

Most people meet the finished artwork.
They rarely see how it is read.
The thoughts, the hesitation, the quiet decisions - they stay hidden.

And over time, I realised something:

The gap is not just in making the work but in how the work is understood.

This space exists to slow that down.

Not by explaining everything.

But by observing more carefully.

Reading the Work

Over time, I began to look more carefully.

Not at what the work means,
but at what it is doing.

How it moves.
How it holds or fills space.
What begins to repeat across pieces.

This led to a quiet practice I now call:

Reading the Work

A way of approaching the work through structure, surface, and meaning.
